    If these are TBM's they were made by GM and the first of them dates to 1943.

  2. Setting history aside, I can't balance the contradiction of flying in such an beautiful environment when the purpose of an air force bomber/fighter is death and desrruction.

    1. Well if it will reassure you, none of the old pilots I know from WW2 ever talk about anything but the joy of flying. Missions are not what they chose to remember or talk about. It's the planes themselves and how much fun they had. They all miss it. Several went on to become commercial airline pilots.
